Because the internal combustion engine piston works under high temperature, high pressure and high load conditions, the requirements for the piston are relatively high, so the classification of the internal combustion engine piston is mainly discussed.
1. According to the fuel used, it can be divided into gasoline engine piston, diesel engine piston, natural gas piston.
2. According to the material of the piston, it can be divided into cast iron piston, steel piston, aluminum alloy piston and combined piston.
3. According to the process of manufacturing piston blanks, it can be divided into gravity casting piston, extrusion casting piston and forged piston.
4. According to the working condition of the piston, it can be divided into two categories: non-pressurized piston and pressurized piston.
5. According to the purpose of the piston, it can be divided into car piston, truck piston, motorcycle piston, Marine piston, tank piston, tractor piston, lawn mower piston, etc.
Technical requirement
1, to have enough strength, stiffness, small mass, light weight to ensure the minimum inertial force.
2, good thermal conductivity, high temperature resistance, high pressure, corrosion, full heat dissipation capacity, small heating area.
3, there should be a small friction coefficient between the piston and the piston wall.
4, when the temperature changes, the size and shape changes should be small, and the gap between the cylinder wall should be maintained at a minimum.
5, the coefficient of thermal expansion is small, the specific gravity is small, and it has good wear reduction and thermal strength.
Working condition
The piston works under high temperature, high pressure, high speed and poor lubrication. The piston is directly in contact with high temperature gas, and the instantaneous temperature can reach more than 2500K, therefore, the heat is serious, and the heat dissipation conditions are very poor, so the temperature of the piston is very high when working, the top is as high as 600 ~ 700K, and the temperature distribution is very uneven; The top of the piston bears a lot of gas pressure, especially the maximum work stroke pressure, gasoline engine up to 3 ~ 5MPa, diesel engine up to 6 ~ 9MPa, which makes the piston impact, and withstand the role of side pressure; The piston in the cylinder at a high speed (8 ~ 12m/s) reciprocating movement, and the speed is constantly changing, which produces a large inertial force, so that the piston is subjected to a large additional load. Working under such harsh conditions, the piston will deform and accelerate wear, and will also produce additional loads and thermal stresses, while being chemically corroded by gas.
Piston inspection is mainly the measurement of skirt diameter, piston ring groove height and piston pin seat hole size:
① The selection of piston should be determined according to the repair size of the cylinder. Usually the larger size is marked on the top of the piston;
② In the same series of fish, the structure of the piston is not necessarily the same, so when choosing a piston, the corresponding type of piston must be selected according to the type of engine. On the same engine, the piston of the same brand, the same group or the same product code should be selected; The piston of the same model must be used with the same product code to ensure that the difference in diameter and quality of the piston do not exceed the scope specified by the original factory. Otherwise, it will cause poor engine combustion, rough work, economic and power decline and other failures. Therefore, when selecting a piston, the corresponding type of piston must be selected according to the type of engine.
